Dr. Sharma completed her early schooling from Nirmala Convent School and Delhi Public School, R.K. Puram, specializing in sciences and economics. She obtained her B.A. (Hons) in Economics from Miranda House, University of Delhi in 1997, followed by her M.A. in Economics from Delhi School of Economics, University of Delhi in 1999. She pursued her M.Phil in Economics at Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU), focusing on rural electrification and poverty. Dr. Sharma earned her Ph.D. from the Energy Studies Program, School of International Studies, JNU, with a dissertation titled “Role of Renewables in Energy Transition: A Comparative Study of India and Norway.”

Experience:

Dr. Sharma has over two decades of teaching experience, having taught at Hindu College, Miranda House, and presently at Daulat Ram College, University of Delhi since 2006. She has taught courses including Microeconomics, Macroeconomics, Public Finance, National Income Accounting, Environmental Economics, and Econometrics. Additionally, she has served as a Ph.D. research fellow at the University of Agder, Norway, and participated in international programs such as the ASEAN Law Academy and GIS training by ICIMOD supported by USAID and NASA.
